I think it was serendipitous that I photographed this small and intimate wedding in Aspen a few days after Memorial Day. I have so much respect for this beautiful bride and groom as they have both been serving in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years! Although you would never guess it from looking at the portraits of this beautiful and ethereal bride, they initially met at a combat skills training course while they were both serving in the military. After they both served a tour together in Iraq they separated ways but continued to remain friends and managed to stay in touch over the years. After the groom retired from the Air Force, after proudly serving for 25 years, they coincidentally ended up living in the same town. The rest, of course, is history. Rather than have a traditional wedding, they decided to elope to Aspen and had an intimate ceremony at the Hotel Jerome in the flower-filled garden on a beautiful day in early spring. Bride and groom were so intelligent and elegant yet so joyful, playful and fun and we enjoyed running around the hotel and Aspen taking photos.
